It’s December but the weather in Hyderabad feels like July! For the second consecutive day, people in Hyderabad experienced overcast conditions and rains, as if it was a monsoon season, along with chilly weather due to cold winds.

The light drizzle, which was active throughout the day on Thursday, turned into proper rain by evening. Multiple locations in Hyderabad received light to moderate showers.

Quthbullapur in Hyderabad received the maximum of 20.3 mm of rainfall, followed by 5.8 mm at Musheerabad, 5.5 mm at Shaikpet and Himayathnagar, 5.3 mm in Begum Bazar, Nampally and Charminar, according to the weather data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS). The rainfall in other locations too hovered between 2 mm and 5 mm.

According to IMD-Hyderabad, similar weather conditions are likely to continue for one or two-days. “Light to moderate rain/



thundershowers very likely to occur at a few places over Telangana. Mist/ hazy conditions very likely to prevail during morning hours at isolated pockets in few districts of Telangana during next 5 days. Minimum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 20 degree C to 40 degree C during next 5 days,” the IMD forecast said.

Amidst overcast skies and windy conditions, the minimum temperatures across major locations hovered 19 degree Celsius and 20 degree Celsius.

In districts, Siddipet recorded 3.3 mm rainfall between Wednesday evening and early hours of Thursday. In Hyderabad, light showers ranging between 2.5 mm and 1 mm was recorded at Hayathnagar, Marredpally, Uppal, Moula Ali, Kapra, Shaikpet, Quthbullapur, Malkajgiri, Balanagar, Musheerabad etc.

Based on the forecast from amateur weather enthusiasts in Hyderabad, the weather is expected to improve from Friday.
