Decentralisation of administration and power, better employment avenues through incentives and infrastructure development would be priorities for the TRS-supported government at the Centre, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said during an interactive session with IT professionals at JRC Convention Centre on Sunday.
“Hypothetically speaking, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will focus on these issues if he has a chance to become the Prime Minister,” he added while responding to a question on what the TRS and the Chief Minister’s plans were for the country other than those on power
and water utilisation.
The TRS working president said the Telangana government had decentralised administration creating new districts, revenue divisions, mandals and gram panchayats. He emphasised the need for the Union government to delegate more powers to the State in health, education and agriculture sectors.
“The stronger the States, the stronger the Union government will be. We must exploit opportunities in agriculture and textiles sectors, which are the largest employers in the country,” he said.
