TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday evening said that "Democracy would be revived" in Telangana on December 3, when the Assembly election results are announced, claiming that the Congress would form the government as shown in the exit polls and end the rule of "BRS doralu."
"All exit polls show that Congress will form government in Telangana with a comfortable majority. We will restrict the BRS to 25 MLAs," he said.
Addressing the media in Kamareddy after the polling ended, the TPCC chief said: "Usually, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao addresses the people after polling, but this time he hesitated to show his face and sent minister K.T. Rama Rao. This proves that BRS will disappear."
On the day, Revanth Reddy visited multiple polling booths in Jangampally village, as well as in Kamareddy municipal town.
"As per the directives of Congress high command, we will conduct a CLP meeting and finalise the modalities for the first Cabinet meeting. The party high command will decide my responsibilities," he said, calling upon party scores to begin celebrations on their assured victory in the Assembly polls.
Invoking the statehood struggle, Revanth Reddy said that December 3 held significance for Telangana as Srikantha Chary had died on that day, following which the Congress initiated the bifurcation process on December
9.
"The Gandhi family granted Telangana state and assured help to the Telangana people," he said.
Accusing Rama Rao of threatening agencies that were conducting exit polls over their predictions of a Congress win, Revanth Reddy said: "KTR should tender an apology to the people after their party is defeated in the polls. CM KCR felt that power was superior and people were ‘slaves’, but the Congress government will give importance to the voices of all sections of people. Social justice and democratic values will prevail."
He said that Congress would ensure a transparent and democratic government, allowing the media to discharge its duties without restraint.
"Only four family members of CM KCR are real enemies to the people of Telangana; the rest of the followers of KCR can tender apologies to the people and join the mainstream. During the British and Nizam Razakar movements, few Indians backed them, but later, they integrated into the society," he said.
"Congress recognises power as a tool of service and respects the Opposition for their constructive role in the legislature," he said.
Revanth Reddy was accompanied by Congress Nizamabad Urban candidate Mohammad Shabbir Ali and Kamareddy DCC president Kailas Srinivas Rao, among others.
