The GHMC officials have speeded up the work of demolition of illegal structures on nalas in Hyderabad city despite tension prevailing at several places with the locals entering into verbal war with the officials. The demolition teams were removing illegal constructions with the help of police.
The demolition works continued on the second day on Tuesday. The State government has formed 24 teams with officials from GHMC, Revenue, Irrigation and Police departments in this regard. Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K T Ramarao was reviewing the situation with the officials continuously.
The government has already issued clear instructions to the MLAs and officials not to obstruct the demolition drive of illegal structures. The government also suggested to the officials to demolish illegal constructions with perfect information. It also directed the officials to show relevant documents and examine them in the presence of the owners if the latter try to obstruct their demolition work.
The GHMC officials demolished illegal constructions at Gacchibowli, Meerpet, Rajendra Nagar, Uppal, Ramantapur, Kapra and Chadarghat areas. The officials were



also removing illegal constructions at the nalas in Serilingampally. The GHMC officials identified illegal constructions for two kilometer on the nalas passing through Adarshnagar, Shantinagar and Deepthi Nagar areas.
The GHMC staff, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Pankajam, removed illegal constructions at Hasthinapuram in Meerpet area. At Musanagar, the staff demolished illegal structures under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Krishna after serving prior notices. The Town Planning officials conducted a survey on illegal constructions at Wahed Nagar, Shankar Nagar and Padma Nagar Bastis. The officials demolished a building constructed illegally at Aramghar near PVNR Express Way.
The GHMC personnel also demolished illegal constructions at Shiridi Nagar under Malkajgiri municipal limits, Laxminagar and Habsiguda under Uppal limits. The demolition works were going on under supervision of Kapra Circle Town Planning officer ACP Santhosh Kumar. The officials destroyed a compound wall constructed at Ramantapur Pedda Cheruvu. Deputy Commissioner Srinivas Reddy has examined the illegal constructions at Udaynagar Colony nala in Karmanghat area.
