DEO to initiate action against absentee poll staff

Show cause notices would be issued to the election presiding officers and assistant presiding officers who failed to attend the training sessions conducted on March 17 and 18, said Dana Kishore, Hyderabad District Election Officer.

Many employees are coming to GHMC office to claim exemption from election duties, but exemption would not be given at any cost, he clarified. Necessary legal action would be taken against those who failed to participate in election duties under Public Representatives Act, the District Election Officer said.
