Karnataka deputy chief minister D.K. Shivakumar said that people of Telangana had decided to give rest to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family members after November 30. He expressed confidence that Congress will form the next government in Telangana on December 9.
"People of Telangana are looking for a change and they will present a gift to Sonia Gandhi, who accorded statehood to Telangana, by giving a big majority to the Congress," he said.
Shivakumar was on Friday addressing roadshows in Huzurnagar and Kodad to campaign for Congress candidates N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and N. Padmavathi Reddy, respectively.
He was confident that both
of them would win as the turnout and response of the people was a clear indicator.
In 2018, Padmavathi lost by just 700 votes. But this time, she will win with a majority that will be in excess of 50, 000 votes," he said.
Shivakumar came down heavily on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his ministers for spreading lies that the Congress government in Karnataka had defaulted on its 'Five Guarantees' promise. He dared Rao to visit Karnataka and find out the ground realities.
"BRS leaders are resorting to false propaganda against the Congress government in Karnataka," Shivakumar said.
