Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy on Tuesday requested K Keshava Rao, who is heading the high-power committee to study formation of new districts, not to divide Hyderabad.
The Home Minister, who met the committee on Tuesday, said that Hyderabad district has a historical significance and has been the state capital for several decades. Hyderabad was the face of Telangana and nothing should be done to alter its image. 
He urged the committee members not to accept any suggestions from any quarter to divide Hyderabad and merge some of the areas with new districts to be formed.He thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for accepting the demand to upgrade Neradigommu village as mandal in Nalgonda district and pitched in for making Devarakonda as new district from Nalgonda.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister on Tuesday took a few more important decisions, including the establishment of Police Commissionerate in the proposed Siddipet district and decided to name Asifabad district after Komaram Bheem, the tribal leader who fought against the Asaf Jahi Dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad.
In the day-long review on the progress of formation of the new districts with the officials and ministers, the Chief Minister told



officials to ensure the new district collectorates and SP offices start functioning from Dasara day.
KCR said that he would take part in the inauguration of Siddipet and Medak district offices.He said the Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and Chairman of Legislative Council Swamy Goud would also participate in the celebrations to mark the formation of the new districts.
He asked the officials to hasten the process for the division of employees and also hold Department Promotion Committee meeting, if necessary, and give promotions to the officials immediately. It was also decided to bring the new Yadadri district under the jurisdiction of Rachakonda police commissionerate and Jangaon under Warangal police commissionerate limits. 
Kagaznagar in Adilabad district and Kandukuru and Tandur in Ranga Reddy districts would be upgraded as revenue divisions. Among other decisions taken were to include Moinabad, Shankarpally, Shabad and Chevella mandals in the proposed Shamshabad district. 
Four mandals in Kalwakurthi Assembly constituency which are to be merged with Ranga Reddy district would come under Cyberabad police commissionerate limits. Markuk village in Mulugu mandal would be upgraded as a mandal.
