In Telangana state, COVID vaccine dry run has smoothly begun in two districts, Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar districts. A total of 6 centres have been identified for the same by the central health authorities.
Reports say that the Dry Run taken up for assessing the preparedness of the State Health Departments is underway in Telangana state. Each centre has picked up 25 people, most of them are health workers, from the lists uploaded on the CoWIN (COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network) app for the exercise.
Out of the 6 centres chosen for the dry run in the state, three are in Hyderabad. They include Nampally Area Hospital, Tilak Nagar Urban Primary Health
Centre and a private corporate Hospital in Somajiguda. Similarly, in Mahbubnagar district, three more centres including government General Hospital, a Primary Health Centre and a private hospital have been chosen.
According to the state Public Health authorities, the vaccination activities have been demonstrated as part of dry run. The health workers have been trained in matters relating to maintaining temperatures of vaccines and storage conditions.
They are also being trained in shifting vaccines from storage points to vaccination centres. The authorities are yet to assess the outcome of the dry run and difficulties if they identify any.
