As part of the world antimicrobial resistance (AMR) awareness week, Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge and the Moazzam Jahi market were lit in blue on Monday.

The monuments will continue to be lit in Blue till Wednesday, November 24, senior health officials from Infection Control Academy of India, said.

Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Arvind Kumar had issued orders for taking-up blue lighting of Durgam Cheruvu cable-bridge and Moazzam Jahi market, following requests from senior doctors from Hyderabad who are involved in the field of antimicrobial resistance.

The members of Infection Control Academy of India, WHO, UNICEF, University of Hyderabad and other AMR stakeholders thanked the MA&UD Special Chief Secretary for supporting and championing the cause of antimicrobial resistance awareness week.
