The results were announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari at the Board of Intermediate Education here on Friday.
The Minister said out of 4,15,366 candidates who had appeared for the first year inter regular exams, 2,60,558 had cleared and pass percentage was 62.73 per cent.
In the second year result, a total of 3.95,721 students took the exams and 67.06 per cent cleared, he said.
Srihari stated that the overall pass percentage in the intermediate public examination has increased from 62.95 per cent in 2016 to 67 per cent in 2017 and to 67.06 per cent this year.
A total of 2,05,086 girls appeared for the intermediate second year regular examinations of which 1,49,091 have passed, translating to a pass percentage of 72.70. In case of boys, 60.99 per
cent of the 1,90,635 who had appeared cleared the exam.
Even in the first year results, girls have dominated over boys in the pass percentage. About 68.85 per cent girls passed out of 2,11,744 who had appeared whereas boys pass percentage stood at 56.36 per cent while 2,03,622 had taken the exams.
The Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations will be held from May 14 and practical examinations from May 24 to 28 whereas ethics and human values examination will be held on May 29 and environmental education exam on May 30.
The last date for payment of examination fee for first and second year Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations is April 20.The Board said there is no provision for payment of examination fee with penalty after the due date.
