Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Sunday cancelled the auction citing technical glitches after extending the e-auction of plots in Uppal Bhagayath and some other areas in the city few times
The Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) paid by the bidders to participate in the auction will be returned to them shortly. A third party audit would also be ordered to ascertain the reasons for technical glitches and initiate action accordingly against the e-Procurement Technologies Limited and ICICI Bank, said HMDA Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy.
Last
month, HMDA had issued a notification for e-auction of 95 plots, including 67 plots in Uppal Bhagayath layout. Together the 95 plots are spread over 1.44 lakh square yards and HMDA was expecting to generate Rs 500 crore through e-auction of the plots.
Finally, officials had decided to conduct the e-auction for four days from September 28 to October 1. Though, the auction was conducted on September 28 and 29, it was marred with snags and there was poor response for few plots. Considering all these factors, officials cancelled the e-auction.
