Superintendent of Police S Chandrashekar Reddy said that they would launch e-challan system soon in Sangareddy town.
Addressing an awareness programme organised for auto drivers at SP office here on Tuesday, the top cop said that traffic police personnel discharging duties at various junctions would be given digital cameras to click pictures of drivers violating traffic rules. He further told them that the traffic violators would get the challan by post.
Since the halting of autos on roads was resulting in traffic jams, the Superintendent of Police asked them to stop all the autos by the road side to help the
police to streamline the ever increasing traffic on roads.
Stating that they were taking serious action against the people caught driving vehicles in inebriated condition, Reddy said that a court had sent five violators to one-week jail on Monday alone. To decrease crime rate, he instructed them to place the number given to them by Police on the rear side of driver seat.
DSP Tirupthanna said that they would initiate stern action against the auto drivers if they were caught driving while speaking on mobile phone or using loudspeakers since they were one of the major reasons for road accidents.
