EC issues poll notification for Three RS seats in Telangana

Election Commission of India on Monday issued notification for election to three Rajya Sabha seats in Telangana.

According to the schedule, last date for filing of nomination is March 12 and elections will be held on March 23.

The EC said the poll results will be announced the same day. The election to three seats was necessitated by the death of



Congress member Palwai Goverdhan Reddy and terms of two other members Rapole Ananda Bhaskar (INC) and CM Ramesh (TDP) coming to an end.

TRS is all set to bag all the three RS seats given its strength in the State Assembly. Sources said party general secretary G Santhosh Kumar, Nomula Narsimhiah and Manda Jagannatham are strong contenders for the RS seats.
