Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday said all efforts would be made for the modernisation of the Telangana Vijaya Dairy to help it compete with private dairies in the State.
He released Vijaya diary calender here, and said the dairy had progressed a lot in the past two years as was evident from the fact that its procurement had gone up from 80,000 litres to 4.5 lakh litres. “There is a good market for all its products including New Delhi
and Bengaluru. We are also trying to introduce some value-added products,” he said, adding that there were also efforts to popularise Vijaya products.
Stating that no other dairy in any State was offering the Rs 4 per litre incentive that Vijaya was offeirng to dairy farmers, he added that the total amount this year on account of this incentive would be Rs 72 crore. “The Lalapet facility will be modernised soon, and more Vijaya outlets would be opened in the city soon to push up sales,” he said.
