The Banjara Hills police took eight persons into custody for allegedly barged into the office of film director Ram Gopal Varma here on Thursday afternoon.
The detained persons were identified as students of Osmania University, who claimed to be fans of actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. Police said the issue had begun over the release of Varma’s Telugu movie, ‘Power Star’,
which was reportedly on the political life of Pawan Kalyan.
Varma had reportedly said on Wednesday that if anyone had an issue with the movie, they could find his office location on Google. However, on Thursday, he said he did not invite anyone personally to the office. The police presence outside his office has been enhanced.
