Elaborate security arrangements have been made for immersion of Ganesh Idols in Hyderabad and in other districts.Over 26 thousand police personnel have been specially deployed to ensure smooth conduct of Ganesh immersion today across the state. 

In Hyderabad, over a lakh Ganesh Idols will be taken out in the historic main Nimajjan Procession and other subsidiary processions.The main procession will be from Keshavgiri located on the outskirts to Hussainsagar located at the heart of the city. As part of historic community worship on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturdhi, Ganesh idols of various hues and sizes have been set up at specially erected pandals at every nook and corner of Hyderabad and special prayers have been offered for the past 11 days.

Amidst heavy traffic diversions, security has been tightened and elaborate arrangements have been made around the



historic Hussain Sagar Lake, being the main immersion venue. About 100 cranes of various capacities were made available at different immersion locations.
Areal surveillance will be in place to ensure smooth conduct of the event in which about 15 lakh people are expected to take part. More than 15,000 CCTV cameras have been installed. 

Entire procession will be video-graphed with over 800 Video Cameras as over 3 hundred hypersensitive and about 6 hundred sensitive places have been identified. Besides 4 hundred mobile parties,16 bomb disposal teams, 22 sniffer dogs and 2 access control teams have been moving in the area.

This year, immersion process of the 57-feet height Ganesh Idol of Khairatabad will begin first, to clear traffic congestion. The idol has been made of 40 thousand kilo grams of plaster of paris.
