“Give us 16 Lok Sabha seats on April 11, and you will see Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao hoisting the national flag at Golconda Fort soon and a person of your choice unfurling the tricolour at Red Fort in New Delhi,” TRS working president K T Rama Rao asserted on Wednesday.
Reiterating that a person of Telangana people’s choice will hoist the national flag at Red Fort in New Delhi after the Lok Sabha elections, Rama Rao urged the people to elect TRS candidates in 16 of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State and ensure that the State has a say in national affairs. The party is confident that the MIM will win Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, the 17th
seat.
Rama Rao was addressing a massive gathering of TRS party workers from Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency at Imperial Gardens in the city on Wednesday. He explained in detail the reasons why TRS required to win all 16 MP seats and ensure that the State gets new projects and additional funds. “If only we had enough strength, we could have achieved more for the State. After the Parliament elections, we will not only take active part in national politics, but will also be able to get things done in favour of Telangana,” he explained. He felt that with 16 MPs in its kitty, the TRS will be able to get nearly Rs 1.5 lakh crore additional funds to the State.
