Health Minister Etela Rajender conducted a whirlwind tour of government hospitals in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The Minister’s tour started with a visit to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Mehdipatnam and continued till evening. The Minister visited Niloufer Hospital, Nature Cure Hospital, ENT Hospital in Koti, Osmania General Hospital (OGH) and in the evening he also visited Gandhi Hospital and NIMS.
The Minister interacted with doctors, nurses, non-clinical and paramedical hospital staff and health care workers who were recruited on contract basis by third party agencies.
At SD Eye Hospital, he participated in an inauguration function of hostels developed for the Post-Graduate doctors within the campus. Later, he interacted with
the senior doctors and reviewed the performance of the eye facility.
Rajender also held a detailed review meeting with senior doctors and staff of Niloufer Hospital. The doctors urged him to address the issue of lack of hostel facilities for PG medicos.
At OGH, he held a detailed meeting the Superintendent Dr. Nagender and other senior staff on the issue of new OGH building.
He reviewed the plans of the new building and held discussions on logistics required to vacate the OGH building, once the construction activity of the new building starts. The tour concluded with visits to Gandhi Hospital and NIMS and held discussions on developmental activities taken up at both the hospitals.
