The State Health Minister, Eatala Rajender on Thursday urged Gandhi Hospital doctors to take all precautions while providing treatment to critical patients in the intensive care.
Rajender said that the doctors at Gandhi Hospital have a stellar record in treating and discharging Covid-19 positive patients. Till May 27, nearly 1321 Covid-19 positive patients who had recovered were discharged from Gandhi Hospital. This is a very unique achievement.
“A majority of patients who tested positive and later died had co-morbid conditions.
There is a definite need to focus on intensive care facilities at Gandhi Hospital,” Rajender in a review meeting on Thursday said.
The Minister directed hospital officials to prepare an estimate of the number of doctors, nurses, medicine, infrastructure and support staff needed to provide health care services to 1500 Covid-19 patients at Gandhi Hospital. “We have to ensure best possible services are given to critical cases, which will go a long way in reducing the fatalities,” Rajender said.
