Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender warned that farmers will chop off the tongues of opposition leaders if they made derogatory remarks against them. The Minister said this while reacting to remarks made by BJP leaders.
Rajender participated in the Rythu Bandhu programme at Bommakal of Saidapur mandal on Sunday and distributed cheques and pattadar passbooks to farmers. Rajender warned the Opposition of dire consequences if farmers were abused with foul language.
Commenting on the Opposition leaders’ questions as to whether money grew
on trees, he said it was the hard eared money of the people. “The government is distributing people’s money for their needs,” he said.
There were no problems when the farmers produced 16 bags of paddy in earlier days. But now, farmers are committing suicide despite them producing 40 bags. Farmers were trapped in debt due to abnormal hikes in investment in agriculture and less profits.
With a view to support farmers, the Telangana government introduced the crop financial assistance scheme.
