PV Rajeswara Rao, former Congress MP and second son of former prime minister PV Narasimha Rao, died at a corporate hospital here on Monday following illness. He was 70. Rajeswara Rao represented the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency in the 11th Lok Sabha from May 15, 1996 to December 4, 1997.
Rajeswar Rao, who was born on August 14, 1946 at Vangara village in Karimnagar district, was the founder-member of Matrusri Education Society which runs several noted engineering colleges, including
Maturi Venkata Subba Rao (MVSR) College of Engineering, in Hyderabad. He served as general secretary of APCC in the erstwhile united state. He also held the post of vice-chairman of Bhagyanagar Khadi Samithi.
Rao was an approved light music artiste of All India Radio, and actively participated in literary, social and cultural activities in Hyderabad during his younger years of life. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed sorrow over the death of former MP PV Rajeswara Rao.
