The Telangana government would start eye check-up for all from April 1 this year, health minister Laxma Reddy said. The government will set up 20 laboratories in all the districts under the national health mission, he said.
Replying in the Assembly on medical diagnostic services and screening camps in the state, the minister said that a Hub and Spoke system has been started at the Institute of Preventive Medicine at Narayanaguda and would be extended to all the 150 Primary Health Centres (PHC) and eight mini-hubs across the city.
The
minister said the government has decided to provide diagnostic services in state free of cost in Hub and Spoke model. He said that the state government has done 19,044 tests under the new method and priority was also being given to strengthen infrastructure in all the government hospitals.
He said the Telangana government was giving priority for immunisation and also creation of awareness among the people. “We have achieved immunisation programme from 65% to 95% in the past four years and it would be 100% in the next one year,” he said.
