To check irregularities of essential commodities under Public Distribution System (PDS) as per the policy guidelines of the Central and the State governments, electronic Point of Sale (e-PoS) would be implemented across the State in a phased manner, said Commissioner of Civil Supplies C V Anand.
E-PoS system will be implemented in all the 15,606 FP shops in the State in different phases. 5,242 FP Shops in 10 districts in the 1st phase,
4,817 FP shops in 11 districts in the 2nd phase and 5,507 FP shops in nine districts in the 3rd phase would be taken up.
To start with, the system is being implemented in 40 FP shops on experimental basis in Mahbubnagar district, in six FP shops in Balanagar mandal, 20 in Jedcherla mandal and 14 in Mahbubnagar mandal. Anand formally inaugurated the e-PoS device in the FP shop at Divitipalli village on Friday.
