Patients suffering from viral fevers are making a beeline to hospitals in the city. Fever hospital has witnessed a spurt in the number of outpatients during the last few days.
The premises of the fever hospital is bursting at the seams in the morning hours. The patients are finding it difficult even to find place to stand. The number of outpatients at the hospital exceeded 800 on
Friday.
During the monsoon, the number of outpatients visiting the hospital goes up. The doctors 350-bed hospital have found it difficult to cope with the rush of outpatients. A doctor said, “We see at least 10-12 patients suffering from viral fever every day during the last few days, especially after the rains started. Some have dengue like symptoms. Anywhere between 15-20 patients are admitted to hospital each day.
