Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, flagged off the first batch of 450 Haj pilgrims from Haj House, Nampally, Hyderabad on Sunday.Mr. Mahmood Ali told that this year, 2700 Haj pilgrims will proceed to Saudi Arabia from Telangana. He hoped that Govt. of India would increase the quota for Haj pilgrims this year.
Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Special Officer of Haj Committee told that Telangana Haj Committee is fortunate that it is getting the opportunity of offering its services to the Haj pilgrims of Karnataka and AP in addition to
Telangana.
Mufti Khaleel Ahmed highlighted the importance of Haj. A large number of Muslims bid farewell to the Haj pilgrims with tears in their eyes.
