Fish Mart opened at AS Rao Nagar

Telangana State Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana inaugurated the first Live Fish Mart at AS Rao Nagar here on Friday.

Narayana said in the wake of changes due to several new irrigation projects, including Kaleshwaram, fish farming had increased leading to a blue revolution. On the other hand, fish consumption too had shot up.

Gangaputra, member, National Fisheries Development Board, said the stall was first of its kind and all varieties of fish are grown with reverse osmosis aquaculture. 

The State and Central governments were encouraging these types of fish culture through subsidies. Youth should come forward to open more such stores, he said.
