A Triathlon event of Swimming, Cycling and Running has marked the closing ceremony of the FitRise-75 programme this morning at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) in Hyderabad. Formally flagging off the closing ceremony, Academy Director Amit Garg said the FitRise-75, has been taken up drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India programme of 2019. He recalled that Mr Modi emphasised during the recently held DGPs conference, the need for fitness especially among the police and armed forces.
Stating that the FitRise-75 programme received fabulous response from across the country, he said over three lakh police personnel,
their families and general public participated in the 75-day long programme. He further said interest about fitness has increased among the police personnel with FitRise-75 programme.
Union Home minister Amit Shah inaugurated the FitRise-75 programme in October last year as part of celebrations when the SVP NPA completed 75 years of service to the nation. Over 1200 units of 60 different organisations from all over the country took part in the FitRise which aimed at increasing one’s capability to run 5 km daily.
As part of Triathlon, 1km Swimming, 40-km cycling and 10-K Run have been held today.
