Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Sunday urged the Centre to provide immediate financial assistance to Telangana which suffered heavy loss due to floods caused by heavy rains in the State. He said it was estimated that Telangana State suffered a loss of Rs 2,202 crore due to the floods. Along with Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Rajender called on Union Home
Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and sought help to the State.
Later, he told media persons that the State witnessed heavy rains and floods that ravaged crops and assets. “We have urged the Centre to provide financial assistance to address the problem,” he said. The Centre will to send an official to assess the loss due to deluge, it is learnt.
