FM strongly defends taking loans for projects

Hyderabad: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has strongly defended the Telangana Government’s decision to take huge loans for various projects and schemes.

Intervening during the discussion budget for 2017-18 in Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the minister said that taking loans was inevitable for the State Government.

However, he said that the loans



were taken as per the guidelines prescribed under FRBM. He said several developmental projects were being implemented from the loans procured from various agencies.

The Finance Minister advised the opposition leaders to do a reality check of existing infrastructural facilities in the State before accusing the government of pushing Telangana into a debt trap.
