There might soon be a respite for pedestrians at key city junctions, at Ravindra Bharathi, Journalist Colony, Jagannath Temple and Jubilee Hills, with officials on Tuesday inspecting the junctions to set up footpaths and take other pedestrian-friendly measures.
The development comes in the backdrop of the 64 City Convergence meeting, held under the supervision of MA&UD minister K.T. Rama Rao, during which the police called for the construction
of footpaths at the key junctions to curb pedestrian accidents.
On Tuesday, GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose, ACP (traffic) Sudhir Babu, engineer-in-chief Ziauddin and chief city planner Rajendra Prasad Naik visited the junctions to prepare a proposal.
The GHMC commissioner also directed officials concerned to undertake various works at the respective junctions.
