In Telangana, a Forest Range Officer (FRO) was killed after being attacked allegedly by a group of tribals involved in ‘Podu’ cultivation inside a forest area in Bhadradri Kothagudem district yesterday.
According to officials, C Srinivas Rao, was attacked near a plantation area of the forest in Chandrugonda revenue block when he, along with another forest official went there to stop damages being caused to the plantation by some people.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed
deep shock and sorrow over the death of the Forest Officer Officer and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members. He has ordered Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy to take action and ensure that culprits are punished stringently.
The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of 50 lakh rupees and ordered to provide full salary to the family of the deceased till retirement age. He ordered to give government job to eligible family member on compassionate grounds.
