Former Gannavaram MLA and YSRC leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested by Vijayawada police in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Vamsi was arrested in a case pertaining to attack on Gannavaram Telugu Desam Party office when YSRC was in power. The police booked 88 people in the case and Vamsi is accused number A71.
The YSRC leader is also accused in several other cases including illegally demolishing TDP leader Vemulapalli Srinivasa Rao’s shops in Bapulapadu mandal, attempt to murder of
TDP leader Yarlagadda Venkatrao, assault on former PACS chief Kasaraneni Rangababu and faking house title deeds.
Vamsi has been booked under BNS sections 140(1), 308, 351(3), Red with 3(5). A case of SC, ST Atrocities Prevention Act has also been registered against him. He is being shifted to Vijayawada from Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Vamsi has applied for anticipatory bail petition which will come up for hearing on February 20.
