The Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested four persons who allegedly damaged the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Bachupally early this month.

The arrested, Koppadi Naveen, Varlakshmi Narasimha, Tannaru Brahmaiah and Koorala Praveen, all residents of Pragathinagar in Bachupally used to consume



liquor near the place where the statue was installed recently.

“After the statue was installed they felt it hindered their activities and damaged it out of frustration,” said DCP (Balanagar), K Suresh Kumar.

The police produced them before the court and remanded.
