Four Hyderabadis have made the city proud. Badminton player P V Sindhu, Gayam Motor Works co-founder Rahul Gayam, Stumagz founders Frederick Devarampati and Sri Charan Lakkaraju and Stanplus Tech co-founder Prabhdeep Singh have been featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list.

Hyderabad-born 22-year-old Sindhu has many coveted titles and firsts to her credit – apart from being the world no 1 in the BWF World Ranking, the player is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic Silver Medal.

“That achievement not only earned her millions in prize money and endorsements back home (second only to famed cricketer Virat Kohli), but also fueled interest in her as a badminton icon. Sindhu has since won titles at the Korea Open and India Open, defeating her Rio gold medal victor, Spain’s Carolina Marin, at the latter,” Forbes said on its website.

Meanwhile, one of the highly successful and much-appreciated product-based startup from T-Hub Gayam Motor Works (GMW) also features on the list with its co-founder Rahul Gayam who is 29-year-old. GMW are the makers of electric vehicles by using technologies like IoT, cloud and in-house battery pack. The company has partnered with Uber in San Francisco, Big Basket and Ekart. GMW has partnered with the Smart Cities Project to launch their clean energy vehicles in Andhra Pradesh state, with plans to scale up

to 10 more cities this year.

In order to solve the problem of ambulance shortage in the country, Stanplus Technologies came into being. Started in Hyderabad, the startup has presence in eight cities wherein it provides private medical transportation either through its own fleet or the ones that it has aggregated. “When a call is received, StanPlus locates the nearest ambulance and after pickup directs it to the best care facility. StanPlus has served more than 15,000 patient calls in the last eight months,”
Forbes list mentioned. 30-year-old Prabhdeep Singh is the co-founder of this company.

Lastly, Hyderabad-born digital media platform for students and by students stuMagz’s co-founders Devarampati who is 25-year-old and Lakkaraju who is 29-year-old feature on the list. stuMagz efficiently engages different stakeholders in an educational institution via a single platform. Using a varied set of campus on cloud solutions offered by stuMagz, an institute may establish a complete end-to-end communications protocol, accelerate recruitment process, list all campus happenings for the benefit of its stakeholders, engage proactively with alumni, and also attract accreditations for the Institute.

This year India came first on the Asia list with almost 65 nominations that included actor Anushka Sharma among others.
