District level meetings were held on Wednesday, ahead of the kick-off of the state health department's upcoming ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme.
As part of the programme, free eye check-ups will be extended to citizens across the state from August 15. The plan will be ready in three months’ time. Eye screening for early detection of vision loss, prescription glasses
and surgical treatment, if required, will be available .
The programme, with a budget of Rs.106 crore, will targets 3.5 crore people in the state. Hyderabad district collector Yogita Rana reviewed the Kanti Velugu camps at King Koti hospital.
The camps will begin at 9 am and continue up to 4 pm .
