Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed district collectors to organise free travel and food facilities for Telugu pandits, members of literary organisations and literature lovers attending World Telugu Conference (WTC). These facilities will also be provided to those attending the meet from neighbouring districts. At least 8,000 delegates will attend the conference.
He said organising WTC is a matter of prestige and guests should be treated with respect and given facilities. Since the inaugural and valedictory programmes are important, these should be conducted decisively and within a deadline. The CM said Vice-President
Venkaiah Naidu would be chief guest and Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao and Governor ESL Narasimhan would be special guests. President Ramanath Kovind will be the chief guest in the valedictory function, the CM said.
A preparatory and review meeting on WTC was held at Pragati Bhavan on Monday and it continued for four hours. CM wants Jnanpith awardees from 13 languages be invited and felicitated on the occasion.
The CM also told organisers to take responsibility of each dais, including LB stadium venue and ensure there won’t be problem for stay, food, logistics for delegates.
