The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday asked all those who would be attaining the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2024 and those who missed enrolling themselves on earlier occasions to file their applications for enrolment in the voters list. Those who have objections or those who want a correction in the previous entries can also file their applications as the ECI prepares for the Lok Sabha elections.

Booth level officers (BLOs) with a pre-filled register containing the details of existing electors will go from house to house to verify details.

Applicants becoming eligible remaining in the three subsequent qualifying dates of the year — April 1, July 1 and October 1



— can also submit their claims in Form 6,

From December 20, to January 5, 2024, the ECI would take up re-arrangements of polling stations and formation of sections, removal of discrepancies in electoral rolls/ EPlCs,  improvement of image quality ensuring good quality photographs, by replacing blurred, poor quality and not to specification and non-human images in roll, wherever necessary.

The integrated draft electoral rolls will be published on January 6. Voters can filing claims and objections between and claims will be disposed of by February 2 and the final publication of electoral rolls is scheduled for February 8, 2024.
