Petrol and diesel prices in Hyderabad have dropped for the fifth straight day on Monday, which brought some relief to commuters who were reeling under high fuel prices for the last few months. While the reduction in prices of petrol and diesel are not all that substantial, yet the slight drop definitely promises to bring cheer to motorists.
According to the office bearers of Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association, the price on both petrol and diesel has come down by 32 paise and 30 paise respectively across Hyderabad.
For the last two months, the fuel prices had registered an increase of at least 15 paise to 20 paise every day, officials
familiar with the issue said.
The price of petrol per litre which stood at Rs 87.50 on October 18 has now dropped by Rs 1.25 taking the price to Rs 86.25 on Monday. In the same way, the price of one litre of diesel came down from Rs 82.13 to Rs 81.41, a drop of 72 paise in the span of five days.
With the effect of daily revision of fuel prices last year, the price of petrol and diesel keeps changing every day. “The fuel prices have been fluctuating during the last two months, however now prices are likely to come down,” said G Vinay Kumar, general secretary of Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association.
