Former MP and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Gutha Sukhender Reddy was elected as member of Telangana Legislative Council unanimously under MLA quota on Monday. Legislature Secretary V V S Narasimhacharyulu handed over the certificate to Sukhender Reddy. Speaking to reporters, Sukhender Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for considering his name for the post of MLC. "I will use my post for service of the people.

Chief Minister for providing me an opportunity to serve farmers as the head of Rythu Samavaya Samithi," Sukhender Reddy said. No other candidate was in fray for the single seat under the MLA quota hence Sukhender Reddy was elected unanimously. Ministers G Jagadish Reddy, V Prashanth Reddy, MP B Lingaiah Yadav and others were also present. The council seat got vacant because of disqualification of member K Yadava Reddy.
