Union surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday instructed officials of the National Highways Authority in Telangana to take up the issue of procedural and other delays with GHMC officials to ensure speedy completion of the Uppal elevated corridor project.

He issued the directions after former BJP MLA from Uppal N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Tuesday met him in New Delhi and briefed him on the status of the project

and the reasons for delays including reluctance by the city civic officials to shift pipelines, electricity poles, and confusion arising from multiple types of payments for properties that are acquired for the project.

Responding to Prabhakar’s request, Gadkari told officials to take up these issues with GHMC and other local officials and ensure the works are completed soon.
