Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad on Sept 5

Clearing confusion over the immersion of Ganesh idols, the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi announced on Thursday that the immersion ceremony will be held on September 5.

During a meeting on the immersion at the GHMC head office here, Utsav Samithi members wanted the Municipal Corporation to make sure the roads under the Hyderabad Metro Rail corridors were repaired and re-carpeted early. 

Samithi president Bhagwanth Rao said at many places all along the Metro corridors, the road conditions were taken over by potholes and pits.This apart, at



many places the street lights were cleared for taking up Metro works. As a result, the areas were in darkness. Additional lightning facility should be established all along the immersion route, he said.

Utsav Samithi members appealed to clear road dividers at a few places like Begum Bazaar to facilitate smooth flow of the immersion procession. 

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy are discussing arrangements and other measures being taken up for the immersion ceremony.
