Ganesh pandal power tariffs announced

Organisers of Ganesh pandals were urged to seek power connections during Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations between September 2 and September 11.

The Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited on Tuesday said pandal organisers can either seek a temporary metered connection under LT Temporary Supply category at the rate of Rs 11 per unit or they can pay a lump sum amount in advance and seek connections based on the load.

The TSSPDCL said that the charges would be at the rate of Rs 250 for



connections up to a load of 250 watts, Rs 1,000 from 250 watts to 500 watts and Rs 1,500 for loads between 500 watts up to 1,000 watts. Once the load goes over 1,000 watts, the utility will charge Rs 750 per additional load of up to 500 watts, the TSSPDCL said in a release.

The company Chairman and Managing Director G Raghuma Reddy said tapping power illegally for the pandals was not only illegal could but also result in dangerous consequences, the press release added.
