Gas godowns in the residential areas in the city will be relocated to a distance from residential complexes after giving notices to the agencies. 

MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar spotted one such godown in the Srinagar Colony and asked the GHMC officials to issue notices to the agency for canceling their trade licence.

MA&UD Principal Secretary said a gas godown in a dense residential area poses danger to the people living in the neighborhood. He also asked the officials to take up with the Excise officials to restrain a wine shop at Yellareddyguda in order not cause inconvenience to the vehicular traffic on account of its customers during evening time. He also directed the officials to explore the possibility of traffic diversion at Srinagar colony.

Arvind Kumar inspected the works in Yousufguda, Srinagar colony and SR Nagar localities and issued instructions to the officials in this regard. He asked them to



take up a special drive to ensure that the debris on the footpaths are cleared immediately. Beautification of open spaces abutting the main roads should be taken up, he added. He asked the HRDC Chief Engineer Mohan Naik to identify major points on the road where pedestrian crossing was required. He suggested opening up of HMRL medians for pedestrian crossing. Junction improvements at all the pedestrian crossings at Punjagutta, Srinagar Colony, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Yerragadda, Kukatpally Y-Junction, KPHB will be taken up for which official architect has been asked to come up with different models.

Aravind Kumar also said the pedestrians on the metro route can now access the metro stations free of cost for crossing the roads. The metro stations are at a distance of one kilometer between each station. The public can use the metro stations which have lift and escalator facilities free of cost for crossing the roads, he added
