GES 2017 : PM Modi’s gift to Ivanka Trump

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met US President Donald Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad.

On the eve, PM Modi gifted her with a wooden box made in the Sadeli craft style which is expected to serve as a reminder of her Hyderabad



visit.

It is a form of marquetry created by highly skilled craftsmen who fabricate geometric patterns in wood.

 

The Sadeli craft style was traditionally used to decorate doors, windows, and furniture but has evolved now to embellish jewelry boxes, containers and photo frames.
