Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Thursday instructed chief engineers to prepare a year-long plan to develop and maintain infrastructure in the city. He asked them to divide it into short-term, medium-term and long-term measures. The move came after MA&UD minister K T Rama Rao held a meeting with officials.
The commissioner advised officials to prepare a
list of road vulnerable points (RVP), their causes and solutions, along with a roadmap for maintenance of roads, footpaths, table drains, white topping and mechanical desilting, among others. “One assistant engineer will be in charge of each corporator ward and will look after the roads and drains in that area,“ he said. The GHMC's IT wing is also planning to geotag the development works.
