As part of Swachh Survekshan, GHMC and water works officials raided several noted restaurants such as Marriot, Crystal, Bawarchi and Astoria. The officials found that these hotels were dumping their waste into drainage lines through manholes and failed to take necessary

measures to maintain cleanliness in their premises.

GHMC officials, along with water works team, conducted sudden inspection and checked various departments of the hotel as part of inspection. After the inspection, Dr Hemlatha ordered her staff to seize the hotel until installation of the machine. The seizure was lifted after three hours as the management bought the machine and installed it in the hotel.
