Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Tuesday said that services of the GHMC Disaster Response Force (DRF) will be extended up to Outer Ring Road (ORR).
While there are currently 30 DRF teams, 15 more will be added soon.
Moreover, DRF teams will also be formed in Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam and other cities. Along with coordinating with NDRF, models of other cities will also be assessed to adapt best practices.
For Hyderabad teams, she
suggested they be trained on chemical fire prevention, as there are multiple pharma companies in the city.
She further directed the GHMC officials to take measures in coordination with the other civic departments to mitigate urban flooding during heavy rainfall. Municipal Department Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, GHMC In-charge Commissioner Amrapali, GHMC EV&DM Director Prakash Reddy and others attended the meeting.
