GHMC gears up for heavy rains forecast from June 12 to 14

With the arrival of monsoon and forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city for next three days, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has put its officials and staff on alert.

With the weather forecast suggesting heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 12 to 14, the civic body has alerted all the field teams, officers and monsoon emergency teams to be prepared for incessant rainfall, as well as short duration high intensity



rainfall in some areas of the city.

The officers and staff were also directed to ensure that all dilapidated buildings were vacated immediately so as to avoid any untoward incidents.

The alert asked the GHMC field personnel to ensure that sufficient safety measures were taken up at cellar excavated sites and also evacuate people residing besides structures with old walls.
