Most of the constructions taken up in the last three years were in Hyderabad, followed by Warangal and Badangpet.

Between November 2020 and November 2023, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) issued 33,452 building permissions, while it was 10,563 by Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) and 9,141 by the Badangpet municipal corporation (BMC).

BMC is located in the eastern part of the city and shares borders with GHMC at several locations, including the road heading towards the famed Karmanghat Hanuman temple.

All these building permissions were issued under the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS), which was launched in 2020. It is a single integrated platform for processing of various permissions required during development of

land and construction of buildings through a self-certification system.

Since its launch, all building permits are done through TS-bPASS, except for those whose files are pending with Development Permission Management System (DPMS), the earlier platform to apply for building permissions.

MA&UD officials said that people can get their queries related to building permissions and their status answered by contacting TS-bPASS staff on 1800-599 22 66 or 040-22 66 66 66 during office hours on all working days. They can also call on WhatsApp number 9392215407 or contact through tsbpasschasingcell@nium.org.in.

The purpose of TS-bPASS was to ensure hassle-free building permissions without the physical intervention of officials or middlemen.
