Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will have six new circles from now onwards taking the total circles to 30.  Orders to this effect were issued by the state government on Tuesday.
The formation of new circles is aimed at ensuring transparent, smooth and effective functioning of the civic administration. It also approved to reorganise zonal offices with one zonal office for every six new circle offices.
Reorganisation of circles from 24 to 30 was done based on 2011 Census. The

increase in circles would reduce the burden and bring about a change in grievance redressal. Every circle has a different civic issue, and if the number of circles are increased the officers of the respective circle can personally look after these problems and find effective solutions.
GHMC officials said that based on 150 wards, circles have been divided into 30. Circles 4-B and 7-B will have maximum of eight wards each while circle 8 will have just two wards (Jambagh and Nampally divisions).
